The Kawaii Animals dinosaurs say ‘rawr’ …

For those who don’t know ‘rawr’ means ‘I love you’ in dinosaur language!

The dinosaur is a fascinating historic creature and the Kawaii Animals dinosaurs don’t disappoint.

Speaking of fascinating, here are some fascinating dinosaur facts!

• Dinosaur’s ruled the earth for over 160 million years, from the Triassic period, through the Jurassic and ending in Cretaceous period, until 65 million years ago a mass extinction wiped them out.
• The largest dinosaurs were herbivores, rather than carnivores.
• Scientists believe the cause of the mass dinosaur extinction may have been an asteroid or significant volcanic activity, which either blocked sunlight for a long period of time or greatly changed the earth’s ecology.
• The first dinosaur to be named was the Megalosaurus, in 1824.
• Pterodactyls were not dinosaurs but flying reptiles which lived during the dinosaur age. The same was for water-based reptiles such as Plesiosaurs.
• The herbivore dinosaurs developed weapons to fight the carnivores. For example, the tail of the Stegosaurus was covered in spikes and the Triceratops had three horns on its head shield.
• The Jurassic Coast (covering 95 miles of coastline from East Devon to Dorset and 185 million years of the Earth’s history) was England’s first natural World Heritage site.
