Cats Protection – one of our favourite animal charities

We have some favourite animal charities.  This blog is going to focus on one of them …. Cats Protection. 2017 marked the 90th anniversary of the founding of this fantastic charity.

How many cats have they helped?

Cats Protection have rehomed over 1.5 million cats and kittens over the last 90 years. They have neutered over 2.5 million cats and kittens.  And they have medically helped over 3 million cats and kittens.
Since their inauguration in 1927 Cats Protection have grown into the UK’s largest feline welfare charity.

How do they do their work?

This lovely charity have several centres around the country but there are too many rescue cats for the branches to care for inhouse. A team of volunteer fosterers care for many of the cats. They do this within a dedicated area in their house. The volunteers can be hand rearing kittens and socialising them to get them ready for their new homes.

Bruno’s story …

We have personal reasons to feel grateful to Cats Protection. Our wonderful little mascot, Bruno, is a Cats Protection alumni. A wonderful fosterer reared his whole litter when his mother couldn’t feed them and she socialised this little litter so well.  We wouldn’t be without our friendly little tuxedo boy mascot with his sweet, loving (and mischievous!) nature.
